Physical Therapy

Physical Therapists are the profession of choice to treat movement disorders and pain. Physical Therapists receive specialized training in many sciences such as human anatomy, kinesiology (the science of human movement), and physics, just to name a few. A Physical Therapist will use “hands on” techniques, such as therapeutic exercise, functional training, and massage, as well as modalities (such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation) to treat symptoms and address the source of dysfunction. Physical Therapists treat people of all ages from “weekend warriors” to elite athletes, children to workers to the mature adult.

Speech Therapy

The ability to communicate is one of the most important gifts we possess as human beings. Any impairment in this area can affect all aspects of our lives, from work, to home, to play.

Speech Language Pathologists evaluate and diagnose speech, language and cognitive-communication disorders. Our highly skilled staff has experience with pediatrics from ages 2 to 15years primarily for communication disorders.

Speech Therapy is designed to either supplement a child's school based therapy or for children who do not qualify for speech therapy through the public school. UOST Speech therapy services are offered year round.

Medical Nutritional Therapy

Medical Nutrition Therapy and counseling services is an essential component of comprehensive health care. Individuals with a variety of conditions and illnesses can improve their health and quality of life by working with a Registered Dietitian. Our staff will perform an in-depth individualized nutrition assessment, address knowledge deficits, and assist with behavioral/lifestyle changes relative to the nutrition problem and medical disease/condition. Medical Nutrition Therapy can offer the opportunity to prevent or minimize the need for some medications through diet modification.

Massage Therapy 

Massage Therapy is a type of treatment in which a trained and certified medical professional manipulates the soft tissues of your body — muscle, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and skin — using varying degrees of pressure and movement. Generally, massage therapy is known to affect the circulation of blood and the flow
of blood and lymph, reduce muscular tension, and enhance tissue healing.
